Guy Mascolo Football Charity Achievers Case Study
Qadar has been a participant over the past year at our Winstanley Estate Positive Lifestyle Project. Through his positive engagement in the project he was put forward to come and train with the GMFC Cobham Development Squad and played a key part in the early stages of the project. Following this Qadar expressed an interest in coaching and the possibilities of working with GMFC in a volunteering capacity initially.
As part of his introduction to coaching Qadar enrolled on our GMFC coaching education program where he firstly spent time shadowing Pos. Lifestyles manager James at our Patmore estate Pos. Lifestyles session and then assisting James with the Bedhead Under 11 side.
Qadar progressed on the first stage of the coaching education program well and stepped up to the second stage of the program where we worked on his confidence addressing groups and communication of his knowledge.
Due to him excelling on the coaching education program, in January ’16 Qadar was put forward to take his FA Level 1 Coaching qualification, fully funded, at the Wandsworth TRC.
Qadar organised himself to get to the taster day and make the cut for the full week long course which we are pleased to say he passed with flying colours.
Since passing his Level 1 course Qadar has gained paid employment through Bedhead FC working on the Saturday morning Player Development League where his team won their league in his first term working!
Alongside gaining paid employment Qadar has been continuing his coaching development by shadowing and assisting AFC Wimbledon Academy coach Hasib Saeed.
A big Well done to Qadar and we look forward to seeing your coaching journey progress!
